They include heat/excitation, cold/depression, dry/atrophy, toxic damp/stagnation, wind/tension and damp/relaxation. The tissue states will then be applied to organ systems, such as the respiratory, digestive, lymph/immune, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems. This has proven to be an intuitive system of energetics that correlates herbal actions, pharmacology, and traditional energetics, making the application of herbal remedies much easier, more powerful and more successful in treating dis-ease. 

 

Therefore, Matthew helps put together all the current understandings of herbs with a system of traditional energetics, namely the tissue states, giving us a true "Art of Herbal Practice".

 

Matthew will then take us on a journey down the shamanic path where we will learn about our animal self and how it is the passage to dreamtime. We will  study medicine animals in general and the corresponding medicine plants, because the most powerful plants are associated with animals.
